Female Quran Teacher Online for Women and Girls

Yes, you can learn with a female Quran teacher here, and not only for Quran. Female tutors teach every subject we offer: Quran reading, Tajweed, memorisation, Arabic and Islamic Studies, and school subjects and languages as well. Ask for one when you book the free trial lesson. You do not need to explain why.

The families who ask tend to be one of three kinds. Sisters learning for themselves. Parents who want a woman to teach their daughter. And mothers who never learned to read the Quran and want to start now, often at the same time as their children. If nobody at home reads Arabic, the parent is usually starting from the same letter as the child, and plenty of mothers find that first lesson easier to walk into when a woman is teaching it.

How to ask for a female tutor

  1. Send one message. Say you would like a female tutor, then add who the lessons are for (you, or your child and their age), the subject, and two or three times in your week that could work.
  2. Take the free trial lesson. The first lesson is free on every subject, with nothing to pay and no obligation to carry on. Your tutor uses it to work out your level before any plan is written.
  3. Carry on with the same teacher. If the lesson suits you, regular lessons continue with her at the times you agreed. If it does not, tell us and we look again.

You can message us on WhatsApp with those words already filled in, or use the contact form. We usually reply within a day. Availability depends on the time you want, which is why two or three times get you matched faster than one.

If the lessons are for your daughter

These are the questions parents ask before the first lesson, and the answers do not change with the tutor.

Our child safeguarding page sets out how tutors are chosen and what we ask of parents.

For sisters learning for themselves

Some women are starting from the alphabet. Others read already and want their Tajweed corrected, or have wanted to memorise for years and never had a teacher. Sisters who are new to Islam can start with Quran classes for reverts, which begin with the prayer and al-Fatiha. The lessons run seven days a week, from morning to late evening, across US, UK, Canadian and Australian time zones, so a slot after the school run or once the children are asleep is easy to find. Sisters in Britain can read how lessons fit UK hours on our online Quran tutor UK page.

If you are learning so you can help your children, one arrangement is worth considering: book your own lesson straight after your child’s, with the same teacher. You meet each letter a week or two before the practice you will be helping with at home. Our Quran classes for adults explain how the adult lessons are paced.

Female tutors: subjects, cost and sitting in

Can I ask for a female tutor for my daughter?

Yes. Say so when you book the free trial and we arrange a woman to teach her from the first lesson.

Is a female tutor available for every subject?

Yes. Female tutors teach Quran, Tajweed, memorisation, Arabic, Islamic Studies, school subjects and languages.

Does a female tutor cost more?

No. The rate depends on the subject and on how many hours you book, not on which tutor you have.

Can I sit in on my daughter’s lessons?

Yes, on any lesson, for as long as you want to.

Are the lessons recorded?

No, not unless that has been agreed with you in advance.

Are the female tutors qualified?

Our Quran, Tajweed, Arabic and Islamic Studies tutors are qualified, and many of them trained at Al-Azhar. Sister Nouran, who teaches Quran and Tajweed, is a haafizah with Ijazah.

What if no female tutor is free at the time I want?

Give us two or three times that could work. Availability depends on the hour, and a wider choice is the quickest way to a match.
