Abobakr Academy connects students in the US, the UK and beyond with a faculty of qualified teachers of Quran, Tajweed, Arabic and Islamic Studies. Lessons are one-to-one, online, and built around the student, not a timetable.
Who we are
A small academy built around one promise: real teachers, real attention.
Abobakr Academy started from a frustration many Muslim families know well. It is hard to find a Quran or Arabic teacher who is properly qualified, patient with beginners, and available at a time that works across different time zones.
So we built the academy around the teacher, not the timetable. Every student is matched with a specialist and taught one-to-one, whether that student is a young child sounding out their first letters or an adult returning to the Quran after years away. Nobody is rushed through a group, and nobody is left behind.
Our teachers are trained in the classical Islamic tradition and hold recognised qualifications in what they teach: Al-Azhar degrees, postgraduate research, and Ijazah in the Quran with a connected chain of transmission. That is why parents trust us with their children, and why a nervous adult beginner will finally ask the questions they had been too shy to ask anyone else.

Are your teachers actually qualified?
Yes, and we publish the proof. Our faculty hold recognised qualifications in what they teach, including Al-Azhar degrees, master’s and doctoral study in Arabic, and Ijazah in the Quran with a connected chain of transmission. What is an Ijazah, and why does it matter?
An Ijazah is a formal authorisation to teach the Quran, granted only after a teacher has recited it accurately to their own qualified teacher. It carries a sanad, an unbroken chain of transmission reaching back to the source. It is the clearest sign that a Quran teacher learned correctly and is permitted to pass that on.
I don’t speak Arabic, can I still learn?
Absolutely. Several of our teachers specialise in students who don’t yet speak Arabic, and some teach entirely in English. Whether you want to read the Quran, learn Arabic from scratch, or study Islamic Studies in English, we will match you with the right teacher.
Do you teach children and complete beginners?
Both. Every course begins with a placement to find the right starting point, then follows a plan made for that student. From a young child learning their first letters with Noor Al-Bayan to an adult returning to the Quran, lessons are private and paced for them.
Can you fit lessons around US and UK schedules?
Yes. Lessons are online and one-to-one, so we schedule around your week, evenings, weekends and times that suit families across different time zones.
