Online Quran Classes Pricing

One rule sets the price: the more hours you book in a month, the less each hour costs. The standard rate is $9.50 an hour. Every monthly plan below sits under it, and the schedules that actually produce progress sit lowest of all.

Lessons run from 30 minutes to two hours. Most families settle between 30 and 60. The same rate applies across the whole Quran programme, whether the lesson is reading, Tajweed, memorisation or Quranic Arabic. Nothing is priced differently by subject.

A monthly subscription covers four weeks of lessons.

How the hourly rate is worked out

The rate is set by total hours in the month, not by how long a single lesson runs. Two 45-minute lessons a week and three 30-minute lessons a week both come to six hours, so both are charged at the same rate.

Hours booked in a monthRate per hour
Fewer than 4$9.50
4 to 5$8.50
6 to 7$8.00
8 to 9$7.50
10 or more$7.00

Booking fewer than four hours in a month is possible but it is the most expensive way to study. A slot still has to be held on a tutor’s calendar and prepared for whether it is used twice a month or twelve times, which is why the short end costs more per hour.

Discount for siblings

Families enrolling more than one child take 10% off the total. Two children each on two 30-minute lessons a week comes to about $61 a month rather than $68.

Each child keeps their own tutor, their own level and their own schedule. The discount applies to the bill, not to the teaching. If some other arrangement might apply to your situation, ask us when you book.

Why the rate falls when you book more hours

Partly it is scheduling. A student holding a fixed slot five mornings a week is easier to plan around than one booking sporadically, and that shows up in the rate.

The bigger reason is that frequency is what actually works. Memorisation decays on skipped days, which is why Hifz students do better with a short session most days than one long session a week. Reading fluency behaves the same way. The schedule we would recommend to a serious student is also the cheapest one per hour, and pricing it the other way round would mean charging most for the thing that works best.

What the price includes

Worth being plain about the certificate: Abobakr Academy is not an accredited school. We do not issue transcripts or state-recognised grades. What you get is a named tutor, a record of the lessons attended, and a certificate saying what was completed. For families using us alongside a child’s regular schooling, that is usually what is wanted.

Is the first class free?

Yes, the trial class is free. It runs shorter than a normal lesson, usually 15 to 30 minutes, and its purpose is to place the student at the right level rather than to teach a full lesson. Where a particular programme charges for the trial, that is stated before you book, and any additional trial is paid in advance.

The trial matters more than it sounds. Starting a child at the level they finished at, rather than the level they are actually at today, is the most common reason a restart stalls in the first three lessons.

How payment works

Payment is made in advance. A student is not held on a tutor’s schedule until the lesson is paid for, which is what keeps the timetable honest for everyone booked around them.

We issue electronic invoices. Card payments run through the PayPal gateway, which accepts Visa and MasterCard. We also accept STC transfer, bank transfer and TapTap Send. Prices are quoted in US dollars.

What happens if you miss a lesson

Rescheduling or cancelling needs at least two hours notice. On a weekly subscription you have one cancellation a month; if you study the same subject twice a week, you have two. Past that, a missed lesson counts as a lesson taken.

The rule runs the other way as well. If a tutor is absent for something unexpected, a compensatory session is arranged and you are not charged twice. The full terms sit on our academy terms page.

Refunds

Lessons you have not used are refundable. Lessons already attended are not. There is no charge for cancelling before a subscription begins.

Getting an exact price for your family

The tables above will get you to the right figure for most schedules. What they cannot tell you is which schedule suits the student, and that is the part worth getting right before you pay for anything. Book the free trial; the tutor will recommend a lesson length and frequency in that first session, and the price follows from it. Message us on WhatsApp or by email and we will confirm the exact monthly figure before anything is booked.

Pricing questions we get asked

How much do online Quran classes cost per month?
At Abobakr Academy, $34 a month for two 30-minute lessons a week, $48 for three, and $70 for five. The hourly rate falls from $8.50 to $7.00 as the number of hours booked in a month rises.

Do you charge more for Tajweed, Hifz or Arabic?
No. The rate is the same across every programme. Hifz students often pay more in a month because memorisation works best with short daily sessions, so they book more hours, which puts them on a lower hourly rate.

Is there a discount for more than one child?
Yes. Families enrolling more than one child receive a 10% sibling discount on the total. If you think another arrangement might apply to your situation, ask us when you book.

Can I book just two lessons a month?
You can, at the standard rate of $9.50 an hour. It is the most expensive way to study and we would usually suggest at least two lessons a week instead, both for the price and because progress at that frequency is slow.

Can I pay for one lesson at a time instead of a month?
Payment is always in advance, and a monthly subscription is the usual arrangement because it holds a fixed slot on a tutor’s schedule. Talk to us if a monthly commitment does not suit your situation.

What currency will I be billed in?
Prices are quoted in US dollars. Card payments through PayPal will convert at your bank’s rate if you hold a different currency.
